Tour to Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Yangshuo, Chongqing, Dazu, Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise, Yichang, Wuhan, Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuzhen 16 Days - Private Tour

Tour Fare:
Total Tour Price: $3950 + tax $550 + Chinese Visa fee $190 (Deposit $500/per person should be paid before Feb. 01, 2022. Full payment should be paid before June 1, 2022)
Land Tour Price Only (not include int'l round trip and all China domestic airfare): $2950 + tax $550 + Chinese Visa fee $190

Price includes:
Int’l round trip air tickets (SFO-Beijing, Shanghai-SFO), all China domestic air tickets specified in the itinerary (Beijing-Xian, Xian-Guilin, Wuhan-Shanghai), 5 stars hotels, 5 stars Yangtze River Cruise (Victoria Cruise Line), 3 meals daily, transportation in China, all admission tickets, English speaking tour guides and China travel accident insurance.

Room: Standard twin bedded room provided. Single hotel room charge extra $550. Single cruise cabin charge extra: $400.

Meals: Three meals a day provided (American & Chinese buffet breakfast at hotels, lunch and dinner at local restaurants).

Tour Guide: Local English-speaking guide services.

Price does not include: Tips (approximately $130 per person for the entire trip).


Day1 9/15 SFO - Beijing/CA986
Board Air China flight bound for China. Cross the International Date Line.

Day2 9/16 Beijing/CA986
Arrive in Beijing, have a dinner and transferred to hotel.
Hotel: Crowne Plaza Beijing Wangfujing (5 stars)

Day3 9/17 Beijing
In the morning visit and sketch the Mutianyu Great Wall (including the round-trip cable car). This wonder of the world was built 2600 years ago. Built to protect its people from northern marauders, the Great Wall snakes its way thousands of miles across Northern China and is one of the few objects on the earth visible from the space. Visit and sketch Summer Palace in the afternoon, the Summer Palace was built in classical Chinese style in 1750 as a royal recreational resort. Among its famous features are the 700-meter-long corridor with its wonderful Painted Gallery, the Marble Barge, and several magnificently painted pavilions and pagodas. Enjoy roast Beijing duck in dinner.

Day4 9/18 Beijing - Xi’an/By air
Visit and sketch Forbidden City in morning .This complex, the largest imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with over 9,000 rooms, resplendent golden- glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. See the high-walled "Inner City" with its government buildings. At afternoon fly to Xi’an.the cradle of Chinese civilization, was the state capital of 73 emperors spanning 11 dynasties during 1100 years dating from 4,000 B.C.

Day5 9/19 Xian
After breakfast, drive to Huxian, a county whose villagers have created a unite style of painting named “Farmers Painting”. Visit the artist studio and have lunch at her family. In afternoon, explore Xian’s Shanxi Museum which displays the 5-thousand-year Chinese civilization. Enjoy dumpling dinner and see stage opera of Tang Dynasty.

Day6 9/20 Xian-Guilin/By air
In the morning explore the Terra Cotta Warrior Museum where 6,000 life-size, individually featured terra cotta soldiers were discovered. Fly to Guilin.Enjoy the local cuisine - rice noodles for dinner.

Day7 9/21 Guilin - Li River - Yangshuo
Cruising down the Li River, experiment the real lives of Chinese landscape paintings’ gallery. Disembark at Yangshuo and walk through a colorful local market. Free activity afternoon. Tonight you enjoy the fantastic Minority Musical Stage Performance on Li River-Impression on Third Sister Liu (Yingxiang Liusanjie). The show is directed by Chinese famous director Zhang Yimou.

Day8 9/22 Guilin -Chongqing/By High Speed Train
Visit and sketch the Gaotian scenic area in morning. Take high speed train to Chongqing.
Hotel: JW Marriott Hotel Chongqing (5 stars).

Date9 9/23 Chongqing – Dazu-Yangtze River Cruise
Tour and sketch the Dazu Stone Carving on the cliff, one of the four major Buddhism grottoes in China. After enjoying hot pot dinner, board the cruise ship and embark on the Three Gorges adventure.

Day10 9/24 Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise
First shore excursion at the mysterious town of Fengdu, or at the town of Wanxian. Onboard, do sketches and/or free to enjoy shipboard entertainment such as feature films, Chinese medicine lessons and live performances.

Day11 9/25 Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise
This morning pass the mighty Qutang Gorge and then the rushing waters and jagged turns of the Wu Gorge. Arrive at Wushan and board small motorized sampans which afford access to the Shennong Stream via the Daning River. At the afternoon sail through the western section of Xiling Gorge that stretches over 60 miles.

Day12 9/26 Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise - Yichang - Wuhan
After breakfast, disembark and board motor coaches head for Sandouping Village, site of the mammoth dam project. Return to the boat and pass through eastern section of the Xiling Gorge. Upon arrival at Yichang, drive to Wuhan.
Hotel: Shangri-La Hotel Wuhan (5 stars).

Day13 9/27 Wuhan- Shanghai - Wuzhen/By Air
Visit the Provincial Museum where we can entertain the chime music performance. Fly to Shanghai in the afternoon.
Hotel: Jin Jiang Tower Shanghai (5 stars).

Day14 9/28 Shanghai -Suzhou -Wuzhen
Visit the Shanghai Museum. Drive to Suzhou, visit and sketch the Lingering Garden in Suzhou. Take coach to Wuzhen.
Hotel: Waterside Resort

Day15 9/29 Wuzhen-Shanghai
Sightseeing and sketch in Xizha Scenic Area in Wuzhen in the morning (including boat ride). After lunch take coach back to Shanghai. Have free time upon arriving. Enjoy the local flavor dinner.
Hotel: Jin Jiang Tower Shanghai (5 stars).

Day16 9/30 Shanghai -SFO/CA985
After breakfast, we fly back home and arriving in San Francisco the same day.

1. Participants should be able to carry approximately 12 lbs (painting materials and personal items), walk two mile and climb 3 fly of stairs continually.
2. Maximum number of participants is 32 and the minimum is 16. Non-artists such as spouse and friends of the artists are welcome to join.
3. During the whole trip there are about 14 times of watercolor sketches plus instructions with student experiment of painting on Chinese rice paper accordion book using Ink (the book is approximately 9”x150”, will buy it in China, Lian supplies the ink). Each sketch will take approximately 1 ½ hour to 2 hours. While artist are doing sketching others explore local scenes and culture.
